The issue with my lifestyle is that you start to lose sight of who you are, and the constant exhaustion can lead to neglect. I have struggled to make time for myself, I find it hard to switch off sometimes. This is something I have focused on in my life and since walking away from the Music industry, I feel I have more time to do the things I enjoy and learn new skills. My body and mind needed time out, it was telling me, and I listened.
There are many hobbies I have now, like attending the gym, interior for the home, make-up and beauty. However, this post is about my love for shopping. My idea of heaven!
Shopping doesn’t need to be expensive. You just need to have a clear idea of what you want and commit to only buying this item. Window shopping can be therapeutic and can inspire you. From the mannequins to other people’s fashion senses. Only in London do you get such diversity and variety. I love it!
If I travel to London I prefer just to go straight to Selfridges, only because I know it has everything I need under one roof, rather than walking around outside in and out of different shops. Of course, if it’s a nice day then yes, I’d prefer the outdoor. Let’s face it, we are not spoilt when it comes to weather in London.
I love that there’s so many brands and products I love to use under one roof, it just works for me. I enjoy walking around all the make-up concessions and having a good old nose at new products and colours. I must confess, I never walk away without purchasing something new to add to my makeup collection. That’s a must!
The perfume section is my idea of heaven! I’m obsessed with purchasing perfumes, I have so many just sitting there, that I end up giving them away. The best thing about walking through the perfume concessions is that you leave smelling fresh LOL! I tend to buy most of my perfumes in duty free; I find it adds to the travelling experience. What is it about shopping in duty free that makes you spend like it’s free money, I always over spend in duty free. ekkk!
Back to Selfridges, another favourite section is the bag section, I mean who don’t love bags! As a bag lover, it’s nice to have an idea on the latest bag or style, again window shopping till I’m ready to buy is always fun. The best part of the bag section is that you can have a quick cocktail at the bar on the same floor……. perfect!
The MOST popular area in any department store is of course the shoe gallery. I have brought many shoes over the years. Some of my favourite pairs have been purchased in Selfridges. I love that I have so much choice and always find what I’m looking for.
I visited Jimmy Choo only a few weeks ago and got treated to a bling pair of trainers. They go with anything and look stylish, thats good enough for me.

I love the black ones
These were the latest pair in and I love the colour.

These are the ones I went for in the end.
I think shopping is a hobby for me, it’s so enjoyable and makes me feel like I’m not just working to pay the bills. Indulging and treating yourself is important, so try to make time and put some money aside to treat yourself to something every once in a while.
As we know life’s too short. Spend within your means and be happy!
